World Heritage Day

In 1982, ICOMOS suggested United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) that April 18 should be celebrated as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. Unesco approved the proposal during the 22nd General Conference in 1983.


World Heritage Day is observed on April 18 every year with an aim to increase awareness about the importance of protecting culture and diversity. Know more about it. World Heritage Day is observed every year on April 18 to preserve the human and heritage recognize the efforts of the organizations working for it. 

Today is the International Day for Monuments And Sites although many World Heritage Sites are closed due to Pandemic.
