International Dance Day

In 1982, International Dance Day was first celebrated marking the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), the creator of modern ballet. International Dance Day was started to spread the message of the benefits of dancecelebrate dance and bring people together.

The International Dance Committee (CDI, in relation to UNESCO) established the International Dance Day in 1982 and its date of April 29th was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), the creator of modern ballet. ... For Dancer's Ways, it is a special day in total alignment with our goals.

Dance is both a skill and a talent. We cannot weigh it on either side. There are people who just wanted to dance, joined a team, worked hard, and mastered the skill. And there are people who will not take any classes but can still perform any dance just by watching someone.

International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute, the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO. The event takes place every year on 29 April, which is the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet.

Happy International Day of Dance celebrates this day by dancing.
